Long-term relationships have become more difficult to sustain in contemporary society. The Couples College is a course designed to teach partners how to develop the attitudes, skills, and behavioral changes needed to improve and create a healthy long-term partnership. Counseling professionals will learn the principles of the Gottman technique as implemented by The Couples College.

Workshop Goals:

  • Communicating the conditions couples need to create stable and long lasting relationships
  • Understanding that friendship is the foundation of a strong partnership, teaching couples the importance of love maps, admiration and appreciation, and the power of influence
  • Managing conflict effectively in session, and teaching couples the skills of fair fighting at home
  • Addressing the major relationship challenges
    • Lack of understanding

    • Maintaining a friendship within relationship disagreements
